Yidi & David Our Story

Still being written

Here's the short version: we quietly tied the knot at the spring equinox on Ærø, a small Danish island. Berlin in August is the loud version — the proper party, with all of you in it.
How we actually met is a longer story. More soon.

For the adventurous

Relive David's middle-school trip to Berlin

Book A&O Hostel Mitte, get pushed around by a teacher (or another authority figure), and visit as many sights as you can cram into a day · so you're too tired to do any nonsense at night.

For the more adventurous

Relive Yidi's first trip to Berlin

Hotel Berlin Berlin · cool name, but not recommended (very far away). Gallery-hop, interview the Boros Foundation couple in the penthouse on top of their art bunker, get advice on post-war building permits.

The vibe

If it catches the light, wear it.

Think: colorful, exuberant, funky formal, disco, western, sparkle… Yidi. If it's beige, reconsider. The black suits, no. Also no costume party or jeans.

Day & night

Hot day, cooler night

Berlin August averages 25° during the day, it might even go up to 35°, who knows. It might also drop to 14° at night. Quite a bipolar character. Dress cool for the sun, bring a jacket for the night.

Kids

Little chaos agents

Bring 'em

The castle sits inside a fenced park, generally safe for most kids, but we still recommend keeping a casual eye on them (looking at you, Theo). We'll bring some toys for outdoor play, and feel free to bring more.

Friday & Sunday

Stay a little longer

Already in town? Come hang out with us. More details and signups are on their way.

Friday night

Dinner in West Berlin

If you're in Berlin Friday night and fancy a biergarten, join us for dinner. Everyone can grab whatever they like

Sunday

Boat ride

Still around on Sunday? Join us for a boat ride from Berlin center, departing around noon. We will post a link to get a ticket closer to the date.
